Bright golden color and crystal clear. Small head that quickly becomes rim bubbles. Some small streaks and spots remain on the glass.

Pale barley grain blended with malt. Light hop.

There’s a taste that reminds me of apricot or peach skin. High carbonation; thinner body. The pale malt is faint but this is because of a strong biting hop bitterness. There’s a bit of farmhouse yeast flavoring as well. While complex, this is a departure from any Pilsner I’ve had.

Tall Pilsner glass from draft at Wild Hare in Hudson. Most likely their Czech Pils used here but because it’s conditioned in American Oak Foeders, calling it “American Lager” seems appropriate. Definitely an improvement in their base beer, with a smoother finish and some faint wood and fruit notes. Really nice.
