On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark hazy brown color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated immediately. Minimal lacing sticks and then slides into the beer. The smell had some light sweet and roasty smooth coffee beans, light cocoa beans, light amount of ash, and a light sweet wheat. The taste had a sweet wheaty to ashy cocoa bean. Light coffee slides in underneath for the balance. Ashy/smoky and roasty aftertaste leads into a sweet dry wheaty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly smooth and light. Overall, wheat based Imperial porter, yup works for me. I’d have again. Good stuff.

Poured two shades shy of black with a 1/8th inch head that dissipates into a tight, off-white band. Great nose! Aromas of roasted coffee and lactose. Taste follows nose; however, there's also a wonderful smoked wood quality. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a smooth carbonation and a light oiliness to the texture. All and all, a nice take on the style - some very rauchbier-esque qualities to this brew. Well worth your time if you appreciate the style.

Pitch black in color. Roasted malt, chocolate and sweet grain flavors. Medium to light bodied. Perfect, balanced bitterness. Medium finish. A really solid porter for sure.
