Can into IPA Glass (Canned na)

Look: Hazy, slightly dark yellow, pouring a creamy 1 finger head which slowly dissipated into a thin cap. Nice lacing
Smell: Strong juicy citrusy hops. Touch of pine. Grapefruit pith, tangerine and lemon zest. Very faint bready malt. Touch sweet smelling too. Medium strength nose
Taste: Upfront I get a citrus bomb, but a touch of alcohol too. Mellow malt with a mingling of piney hops, with a touch of dankness. Lowish bitterness. Finish has some dankness in it and very mellow malt, which fades away leaving a lingering orange pithy aftertaste
Feel: Light-medium bodied, moderate carbonation, soft texture.
Overall: Decent brew, the alcohol, while just 6.3%, pops out alot for me, and the its a touch on the thinner side for a hazy IPA. I dont love it but I would drink it again and pick it over many other IPAs Ive tried

Deciduous Brewing Company

IPA - New England / Hazy

Smooth and juicy feel with a tangy, zesty, and lemony hop kick. Big tangy factor with high toned citrus and lime peel flavors. Bright and bursting with zest and citrus. 6.3 is a bit relaxed but the hop flavor really packs a juicy punch.

Pours a bright orange color, mostly clouded with a somewhat thin off-white head that fizzes to nothing quickly.

Aroma has sharp tangerine and grapefruit notes with some pith in there making it not as sweet smelling. Very pungent though.

The flavor is all citrus up front with tangerine dominating. Low malt allows the hops to ride the wave to the end. The finish is a little astringent with just a lingering citrus floralness to it.

Feel is soft and seltzery, maybe a little thin compared to other NEIPAs from Deciduous. I think the light to moderate bittereness in the later half of the taste profile kills what is good about the hops, leaving it feeling imbalanced.

Overall this is a good NEIPA but it was not received as well from Deciduous patrons as other ones do - cans were available for a much longer time than normal. All in all it is a pleasant beer but does appear to lack some qualities that make it stand out.

16oz can dated 8/17/17.

Pours turbid yellow with a short-lived head of white. Minor retention or lacing. The nose is tropical and pretty juicy with shades of grapefruit, peach, mango, and pear. Medium bodied with a textured, floury mouthfeel. Grapefruit pith up front on the palate with a biscuity backbone and a serious bitterness. Finishes bone dry with a lingering, pithy bitterness.

Tasty but a bit heavy handed on the bitterness.

Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a milky yellow color. Thin white head and no lacing. The nose is good. Citrus, tropical hops, some graininess. The taste is good. Somewhat bitter, and not as juicy as some other NEIPA’s. Orange, lemon and some tropical flavors. Good bod. Nice!
