Hazy murky lemon yellow with a decent sized bone white head that persists. Lemony pity grapefruit and earthy grass with some sweet bread to back it up. Pretty nice.

Pours opaque orange gold color with a fairly dense off-white, silky head that leaves nice spotty lacing on the way down.
The aroma is moderately strong at best but still very pleasant with semi-sweet orange and apricot notes. Its a nice blend.
Flavor is very smooth in the onset with a solid orange and stone fruit combo staying on-point for the distance into the finish where a touch of orange pith tartness creeps in. This is markedly different than many other NEIPAs in this regard. This flavor is both subtle but very thick. Interesting.
The mouthfeel is also fantastic with a dense, creamy smoothness that hides any hint of DIPA burn. Carbonation is light to moderate, bitterness is really only detected in the finish. Again, no alcohol burn. Wow for 8.4%
OK, I love Deciduous IPAs but find their DIPAs are typically a bit harsh and alcohol-y, but this one is just a true gem coming across with perceived IPA strength. It offers a great flavor - not too sweet, not too over-the-top hoppy, and so comes across as a mature, sensible version of the style. I think some will see it as weak on flavor, but I don't see that as a problem because the mouthfeel is so dense it makes up for the subtle flavors.
Bottom line is you want to try this one, so stop in and get a pour then decide if you want the 4-pack for later or for sharing with others.

On tap, pours a hazy deep gold. Almost no head or lacing. Smell and taste are tropical and piney, with some good citrus as well. Smooth, soft medium feel. Very drinkable. Are all Deciduous beers under carbed? Is this a thing? Still a great-tasting IIPA.

From a 16oz can, undated, purchased at the brewery 11/12/20. Served in an IPA glass.
Pours a cloudy, opaque, milky-orange colour with two fingers of soft, fluffy foam. Retention is pretty good, leaving a thick, creamy collar and wads of foamy lacing. Looks to be the real deal.
Aroma is yeasty-fruity, bready, mellow. Reminiscent of a thick slab of white bread with marmalade.
Taste does a 180° to the nose being shockingly sharp and pithy - the nose murmurs soft, comforting nothings in your ears, then the taste snaps its fingers under your nose and flicks you in the balls. Bitter grapefruit juice, sour lemon and tart, green gooseberry, only with the flavour intensity dial cranked way up high. Really nice, bright citrusy bitterness with an impeccably clean finish.
Feel is clean and quenching, juicy as all get out, medium bodied with bright, almost aggressive carbonation. Super-easy drinking with no booziness at all.
Overall, wow, that was a kick-ass great DIPA! I thought I was drinking this for the first time and just now see that I rated it back in April 2019 with just the notation that I’d had it on draught at Big Fatty’s. So, this review replaces a 4.16 rating from back then.

DECIDUOUS EARLY SIGNS DIPA 12/22/18
Poured from the 16 oz. can into a Tree House stemmed tulip.
a: Opaque orange with a half finger white head which vanished quickly to a ring of white foam around the inside edge of the glass, a small thin patch in the center and some spotty lacing.
s. Citrus leaning to orange/apricot.
t: Citrus with some pine resin over a medium to full malt base. Lingering bitterness on the dry finish. Medium to high ABV is well covered.
m; Medium to full, great body and some carbonation tingle.
o; A "chewy," tasty NE style DIPA, if still a bit overly bitter/unbalanced in favor of hops at first. An odd dark note beneath which may come from the "Enigma" hop noted on the can as one of three used along with Galaxy and Citra, or from the combination. A little more head on this than other Deciduous brews I have had but it still virtually disappears fairly quickly to little more than a thin ring.
