Not sure how to identify this one, I was told it was a new release yet the can provides little information including the ABV, which I guessed at. I chose to call it 9.0 since there have been eight previous iterations and like their "Research" series, it is identified as part of an "Experimental Hoppy Ale Series" on the can.
Poured from the 16 oz. can into a Tree House stemmed tulip.
a; Hazy orange with a half inch thick white head which receded to very thin surface foam and fairly dense lacing.
s; Slight citrus/pine resin-like tinge leaning somewhat more citrus as it warms..
t; Moderate resin over a hefty malt base. Bitterness lingers on the dry finish.
m: Medium plus, very good body and some carbonation tingle.
o; Obviously different from the previous versions I have had, more of a NE look with NE/west coast hybrid flavor, coincidentally somewhat similar to the Tree House Bright w/Nelson I had earlier, but not quite as much flavor and with somewhat more lingering bitterness. Still a bit of an issue is the lack of any sort of long lasting head or surface foam film, although this one has more traces for a longer time than others of theirs I have had before.
