From a 16oz can, coded ‘Independence Day.’ It wasn’t, but it was canned sometime the week before. Served in a tulip.
Pours a murkily opaque pineapple juice colour with something less than a finger of soft, lathery suds. No retention to speak of, quickly fades back to a small creamy collar with a thin, slippery curtain of lacing.
Smells mighty fine though, a sort of dreamy, boozy cloud of strawberry, vanilla, lime, creamsicle.
Taste is similar to the nose except the vanilla creamsicle character is superseded by a mildly boozy, moderately bitter juiciness. Strawberry flavour is prominent at the start, followed by pink grapefruit, guava, pineapple, and finishing with a distinct palate-smacking lime taste. Tastes bigger than it’s stated abv, but in an entirely good way.
Feel is juicy and clean, no more than medium bodied and with ample fine carbonation.
Overall, a tasty NE[D?]IPA. Not entirely dissimilar to a fruity cocktail from the bar at a Chinese restaurant.

Had on tap at the brewery in a tulip glass. Pours a milky golden color with not much of a head and bubbly lacing on the glass. Had a boozy smell to it but none present in the taste. Papaya and pineapple with a pillowly mouth and a juicy body. A very mild bitterness on the tongue afterwards. All around solid choice for my first brew from here.

New one from them - had on tap at brewery. Board says Citra, Moteuka & Topaz hops.
Pours a completely opaque bright gold color with a one finger biscuit head that leaves intricate lacing. This is truly a gorgeous beer!
Aroma has a slightly earhy but tangy citrus smell with some florals.
The taste is similar with a dense, pulpy citrus flavor - maybe grapefruit with unripe orange as this is is not a sweet beer as much as other NEIPAs. TNgy earth notes are dominant in the mid taste while a moderate bitterness and floral notes linger in the finish.
Feel is very heavy, again like juice pulp. Bitterness is mostly unnoticed and effervescence is limited. There is NO alcohol burn, which is not typical of Deciduous's DIPAs. This is a great surprise.
This is just a fantastic beer. For those who know this brewery it falls well within their NEIPA range, which is a good thing if not expected. However the nuance on this shows a maturity as they explore the style. This is a must have!
