Now that we have a Czech Dark Lager style, the reviews and ratings for this beer should be carried over. The can calls it a "Czech-Style Dark Lager" No matter what style, this is a very good beer. Pours a dense black color with no light coming through. The head was dark tan, small and frothy with about average retention. I drank this one out of an Amstel mug and there was some lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include roasted malt, a fairly strong earthy/herbal presence and a bit of chocolate and coffee. Quite tasty. "Crisp and light" is pretty much of a cliche for lagers so this one is "crisp and not THAT light". Has a moderately heavier "feel" to it. There is a nice touch of bitterness here as well. A good Dark Lager - whether European of Czech

Pours a dark brown with ruby tint at the edges, 1" tan head that settles to a quarter-inch ring. Nose is roasted malt, roasted peanut, loose change, light dark fruit. Taste follows with roasted peanut, peanut powder, bitter coffee, and a bit of metal. Mouthfeel is smooth but remains crisp. Overall, this was very pleasant.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that died down, leaving a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has lots of flavors of dark malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, clean and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lager was super easy to drink but was especially flavorful and has a nice clean and smooth mouthfeel.
