A Dole Whip-inspired Smoothie Sour sounds just unhinged enough to either be amazing or a total flop. Let’s crack it open and hope for the former

Pours a murky pale yellow with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to nothing and leaves minimal lacing

The nose doesn't present much tartness which makes me a bit nervous, but it's still fine for what it is. I'm picking up on aromas of pineapple juice, brown sugar, vanilla ice cream, marshmallow, orange juice, and light mango

It takes an unfortunate turn into the sweet realm in taste. I don't hate it but it's just rather bland. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting pineapple juice, orange juice, vanilla, mango skin, and light peach. The swallow brings notes of pineapple juice, vanilla ice cream, brown sugar, orange juice, and mango

A medium full body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes sticky and sweet

This isn't the worst thing ever, but my expectations were so much higher for this. It's just messy and sweet

 

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned this week. Pours a very murky yellow with a 2 finger sticky off white head that leaves a thin wall of lace with nice retention. 4.25

Aroma is vanilla, tangerine, mango, and peach. 4.5

Taste follows vanilla, tangerine, mango, and peach the vanilla stands out, but fairly balanced with everything else. 4.5

Mouthfeel is big, gentle carbonation, maybe a tad sticky but not dry, and at 6.5% it drinks bigger in body and flavor, but easy drinking. 4.5

Overall this one is pretty darn impressive. A hearty one is enough, but pretty darn tasty. 4.5
