Our First Anniversary Imperial IPA is brewed with Galaxy and Citra hops. So good it only comes once a year.

It's a hazy yellow with a white head that smells like citrus fruit, but its flavor is dominated by hops. The bitterness takes over any subtle flavors may have existed.

Served in a goblet from the can.
Appearance: Golden hazy opaque blonde color with medium bubbles to the body.
Smell: Floral feel coming off seriously hoppy. Fistful of hop pellets shoved up your nose.
Taste: Bitter with yellow grapefruit juice and lemongrass note. Heavily floral, you would think I'm drinking a lemon/grapefruit juice.
Mouth: Touch dry with a lemon skin finish to the beer.
Overall: great pick-up, nice mashup which could satisfy any IPA lover. Salud!

The anniversary beers from Sand City are just as good as the Other Half anniversary releases. Can’t wait to see what they do with 5!

Traded for this a while ago while in line at Other Half, knowing that this was a Sand City beer and an anniversary one on top of that. Indeed, this met my expectations as it was among their best and one of the better brews that I've had in a long time. Super soft and full of fruit, this was like the first SingleCut and Other Half beers that made me fall in love with this style!
Lovely golden hue to this beer as it looked like a Hefeweizen - cloudiness and all. Lots of bubbly foam topped it off as it quietly settled and lingered in the form of rocky lacing along the top third of my pint glass. Lots of tangerine juice, bright orange, soft hops, and deep, lively tropical fruit in the slightly muted nose. The taste burst forth with all of those as this was subtly dank, earthy, green, and chock full of rind. So much going on here but the Galaxy and Citra were full and long-lasting as they melded well together with the end result being a pillowy beer that didn't stay in my glass for very long. A light carbonation, doughy mouthfeel, and herbaceous aftertaste rounded out the flavor profile as this was nearly in a class by itself!
Booze? It's here somewhere but with so much goodness going on and no discernible alcoholic presence, you won't even notice that there's any in here. Slick, juicy, and with a minimal amount of sediment at the bottom of the liquid, this was such a winner - even after all of this time! Some sweetness and a hint of wheat lingered along with the citrus sickness that stuck to my palate, as my only regret was that I had one can of this. Even though this wasn't dated on the bottom of the can, I was so impressed with everything else about this beer!
