Pilsner malt base with a touch of Vienna and oat malts provide a smooth breadiness to the bold citrus flavor and aroma. Simcoe and Citra hops for both boil and dry hop additions bring out the classic IPA punch, while the low gravity allows for multiple pints.

Fantastic session IPA. Very drinkable. Hard to believe it’s a 4.5…as others note, it drinks like a 5.5. Refreshing….soothing mouthfeel…this one is clearly a favorite here at Fair Winds.

On tap at brewery:
Light haze infused into an otherwise clear light golden body. Thick rim of white head throws some dense lacing against the glass early.
Nose is a more floral form of the Citra hop I enjoy. The Pilsner malt actually comes out as well, giving an overall pleasantly sweeter IPA nose, but it works for me.
A little thin, as expected, the beer reminds me flavor-wise of a nice hoppy pils, though it is a little more full and less crisp in feel. Bitterness hits early mid taste after the Pilsner malt opening, piney and citrus rind. Straightforward but on point. As the beer warms, the citrus comes out a bit more, even a little more pulp than rind.
Definitely leans bitter, but doesn't get too far out of balance to become hip water. I like the malt choice, an enjoyable session IPA.

Appearance: Classic Charlie beer (formerly of Mad Fox) - Almost crystal clear. Thick, white head with ridiculous retention and lacing. Looks gorgeous.
Aroma: The Citra and Amarillo really pop. Pale malt structure. Dominant orange citrus peel and juice with hints of tropical fruit.
Taste: Drinks bigger than 4.5%. Again hops lead the way in the flavor profile with more orange citrus peel and juice. Malt structure is quite pale but the oats help provide some body. Really, really flavorful.
Feel: Again, drinks closer to 5.5% or 6 than 4.5%. Bitterness is present but never overtakes the other components. Oats help provide body, though still on the lighter side. Finish is lingering, bitter, and citrusy
Overall: Very nicely done. Probably in the top 3-4 American Session IPA/Pales that I've had.
