On tap at brewery:
A nice old school IPA with a hop profile that leans on grapefruit, is fairly bitter in the end, but has a strong toasted malt backbone.
For a deeper golden beer, this might be as clear as it gets. The head is moderate, but has some stamina.
The nose exclaims grapefruit, but the lightly toasted malts tell the hops to settle down. Citrus pulp, floral aspects, and a confident grapefruit pith make up most of the nose.
Taste starts with a toasted cereal malt base that gets a blend of reedy grass and grapefruit pith pretty early. This clean beer lets the flavors bounce against each other. Slightly lively carbonation keeps things from getting too involved, and the pink grapefruit comes out in juice and (more prevalently) pith form.
A classic grapefruit-heavy IPA, and one I enjoyed quite well. The carbonation might have helped accentuate the carbonation which seemed to lead to the one sticking point for me against even greater enjoyment.
