Impressed, no. Unimpressed, no. I'll need more than one.

Deep, clear reddish gold color with tan cap and lacing.
Aroma of dark toffee and caramel malt with little hop presence.
Taste at first reminds me of dark European style chocolate though it has no chocolate flavor. What it has in abundance is a deep malt flavor redolent with caramel and toffee, both of which come across as clean and finish dry. Rather simple flavors that are balanced and well integrated.
An almost chewy full texture with balancing carbonation.
This is a substantial brew that doesn't come across as heavy and has a clean dryness that is refreshing. Not really a general purpose food beer but I can see it working with spicier dishes.
