It's wonderous, the delicate and delicious balance of spicy and fruity esters in Wonder Boy Hefeweizen. This smooth, rich yet refreshing ale is our Texas twist on a favorite style. Soft white wheat, bready Munich malt, and German pilsner malts build the backbone, American Cascade hops add a unique yet subtle citrusy note, but our unique yeast blend does the heavy lifting. Prosit!

pours a hazy burnt orange body with a cream-colored attempt at a head that instantly dissolves into a big bubbled halo and leaves no lacing
aroma is pine cascade hops and sweet wheat with an interesting orange flair
taste is a hoppy wheat orange, rind and all.
mouthfeel is moderately high carbonation and medium-light bodied, running watery with grainy carbo edges. finishes somewhat dry with the overall taste lingering in the aftertaste, fading to an orange peel and cascade hop bitterness.
overall:
meh. not very hefe-like, honestly. but as a light citrus cascade session brew, it holds up well. set your expectations and it's fairly solid, but it ultimately lacks the style's hallmarks and any amount of luster necessary to justify such a deviation from said hallmarks. love this brewery, but this one isn't one I'd gush about or recommend to rep the brewer's chops.
