A: pours a thickly cloudy straw colored body with an excitable white head that quickly fades to a foamy ring, leaving specks of foamed lacing along the way
S: lacto-funk with caramel sweet malt, vanilla cream, a hint of strawberry and a latent floral hop aroma
T: follows that nose almost precisely. the strawberry is present, but not blatant. the lacto funk and malt somewhat steal the "taste" show. overall bright yet smooth flavor, as advertised.
F: fairly high carbonation with a light body. clean smooth finish with a slight dryness. coats the tongue and cheeks.
Overall (personal opinion):
this is not my favorite style, and I had hoped for more strawberry *umph* - HOWEVER this was highly enjoyable and would still recommend; my expectations were undoubtedly skewed by having a Strawberry Lambic recently which confronted me with a wild hunger for strawberry. this brew is more "cream" than "strawberry" but it is definitely still impressive. it's funky and way more complicated than most "golden ales" can claim and for me, that's fantastic.
i would love to see this in blueberry form to round out the funk.
