For this collab, you've been dealt two ace breweries split by the distance between San Diego and Reno. We partnered with our friends at Revision Brewing to make a West Coast-style IPA. This beer features notes of tropical fruit, pine, and berries from Idaho 7, Chinook, and Mosaic hops. Cheers!

Thanks, Dave!
Got three Monkish beers and a few others from Dave when he was in San Diego. Was tentatively looking forward to this one but you never know with hoppy AleSmith beers, even with Revision’s help. AleSmith’s website described it as “For this collab, you’ve been dealt two ace breweries split by the distance between San Diego and Reno. Poured a medium yellow clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom and middle of the glass at fast speeds. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Mosaic jumped out on the nose, followed by Idaho 7. Specifically Tropical Punch bubblegum, raspberry iced tea, mixed berry, pine, citrus zest, lime and grass. About as good from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste wasn’t nearly as good as the nose. Mosaic still led the way, but the Idaho 7 didn’t quite work with it (which it usually does). In order to Mosaic, Tropical Punch bubblegum, raspberry iced tea, mixed berry, floral, pine, Idaho 7, herbal, lime, citrus zest, grass and hints of woody Chinook. It did get a little better as it went down. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Well, about as good as I could expect with a hoppy AleSmith beer. Definitely grew on me as it went down. Very good overall. (Overall - 3.75)

Pours a very clear light golden color with a two finger soapy head.
Smells very malty like bubble gum.
First off let me say the malts highlight from start to finish. With that said a bit of pine, cherry, in the finish the backbone fuses nicely with the earthy hoppy taste.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Clear gold, big head.
Smell: Mild citrus.
Taste: Mild sweetness, then a mix of slight cherry, mild citrus, and breadiness. Light to medium body, finishes somewhat dry.
Overall: Saw this on the forums and people seemed to be enthusiastic so I picked up a single. It's interesting, not super bitter or super dry, kind of a weird cherry note to it. Usually cherry to my palate is alcohol, but this isn't super strong. Solid and tasty enough, worth a try.

Middle of the road, not too high not too low. Like getting a 10 and 7 in blackjack, you would rather have something better, but it could be much worse. Honestly, a bit let down on the final result of these two breweries collaborating.
