A: Black and oily with a thin mocha colored head. As with all versions of Speedway, looks amazing.
S: I've had a few coffee versions of Speedway now and this is by far the darkest smelling version. Tons of dark, dark coffee with some charred malt and bittersweet chocolate.
T: Similar to the smell. Huge roasted/charred malt presence. Tons of dark chocolate, charred wood and licorice. Reminded me a bit of Big Black Bear Stout with all the huge roastiness. Pretty good stuff.

On tap at Alesmith.
A: Black with a finger of dark brown foam. Good retention and scattered lacing.
S: Earthy, nutty, grainy coffee character. Pronounced dark chocolate with licorice and molasses.
T: A nice combination of bittersweet dark chocolate, roasted grains, and earthy coffee. Light molasses presence. Some licorice. Moderately bitter with some astringency throughout. A somewhat sharp and acrid finish that becomes increasingly distracting with each sip.
M: Full body with a medium level of creamy carbonation. The mouthfeel is chewy, sticky, and dry.
Overall: Nice aroma and a pretty good flavor though the coffee is somewhat harsh, particularly in the finish.
