Deep amber. Yeasty bread and sweet malt. Apple juice, ripe raisins, definitely sweet.

Consumed at the brewery January 2nd, 2012.
Beer is a very clear deep reddish plummy brown. The head is a very fine layer of off-white foam that provides superlative sheeting.
No aroma at all at first, but deep inhalations provide a slight berry and roasted nut aroma.
Flavor is rich, malty like a dark or wheat bread. Semi-sweet dark berry and cherry flavors verging on red grape. Sugarcane/rum note. No bitterness and a little light on malt flavor.
Unremarkable mouthfeel.
The description may not make it seem so, but this is a very tasty beer. It cannot compete with standards of the style, but is a respectable and unflawed example.
