Valencia Saison

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a hazy medium orange amber with a big three finger white head with great retention and tons of lacing. Aroma of orange, saison yeast, lightly mineral. Flavor is candi malt, saison yeast, orange and orange rind, light honey sweetness; finishes with a mild tartness with lingering orange and bitterness from light hops and rose hips. Medium bodied with nice peppery carbonation. A bit sweet for a saison, but balances with saison style dryness and yeast. Very nice orange flavors of both fruit and rind. An interesting dry/sweet flavor almost like a Belgian pale / saison hybrid. This turned out quite flavorful and satisfying. Not a traditional saison, but well made and fun to drink. I'll be back.
