German-Style Golden Ale
IBU 24
An award-winning German-style golden ale. German grown pilsner and wheat malts give it a nice bready aroma, subtle honey flavor, and provide for a delicate but complex finish. It’s crisp and refreshing, not hoppy. Prost!

Easy to drink. Not overpowering yet smooth and wonderful flavor. Can is small but orange can skin makes it easier to locate.

Do aft at the Handlebar. Deep golden pour, small but sturdy white foamy head. Soft grainy aroma, bready. Taste adds a light crisp snap to the malty, bready base. Paired with a nice smooth, creamy feel. Mild lingering bitterness.

Pours a rather cloudy golden color. Nice velvety white head forms on the beer. A thin layer of residual foam lingers on the top of the beer. Aroma has nice notes of white bread, straw, grassy hops and a slight sweetness on the nose.
Taste follows the nose for the most part with notes of straw, white bread, grassy hops, with a certain light fruitiness from the hops. Feel is medium to heavy bodied for the style, but still stays rather crisp thanks to the bright carbonation.
Overall it is a really solid kölsch.

nice take on the style here, simple and clean, highly drinkable and refreshing, and german enough in terms of grain and yeast to have some old world appeal to it. its also rather versatile as a food beer, light enough to not overwhelm but also flavorful enough to not get lost, and the high carbonation is nice too. pretty good clarity on this from the tap, short white head, soapy lace on the edges of the glass. smells and tastes about the same, pils type malt at first, a little deeper bready or biscuit sort of character later, slate minerality, an almost lager yeast flavor on the fermentation side, but very tidy too. pretty restrained on the hops but light lime and tea notes help bitter and crisp the finish. this is very dry at the end, but not in the center, where there is some definite mid palate sweetness, fleshing this out a bit. slight floral honey behind the pale malts, some wheat in the mix maybe, lighter medium body and high effervescence. clean and well made, very drinkable but not just a hot weather beer either. solid.

Pours a really bright lively light pale, nice multitude of carbonation forms as it pours, a very nice pouring beer. Head was a very nice perfect white, stayed longer than other kolsch but like most did eventually dissipate to not much.
When I smelled this beer I immediately thought of honey then got whiffs of bread and a little bit of grain, and interestingly enough as it warms a smell that reminds me of green tea.
Taste is mostly honey, paired with the bread and green tea note, and even just a hint of hops in the form of a bright lemony note. It isn't strong, I say bright cause it really gives a nice refreshing feel that is noticeable.
Mouthfeel nice and light, no bitter, clean and dry finish.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a nice semi-transparent orange with white head. Quickly dissipates, leaving a nice layer of lacing around the rim. Bubbles throughout. Nose is citrus upfront - lemons and oranges. A bit of wheat and grass. A bit of honey. Slight note of baked bread.
Taste is interesting. A bit sweet, but bitter on the back end. Citrus peel, grass, honey, and wet leather. A bit of a woody note as well. It's not overly smooth - the flavors seem to fight a bit.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Overall, a really nice beer!

Poured a nearly transparent wheat gold with a 1 finger white head that was made of surprisingly large bubbles.
The aroma was mild, for me that's normal. What I did get was grassy and maybe a little metallic. Curious. Not bad, just not excellent.
The taste rather followed; I may not be ready for the subtleties of the Kolsch as I got grassy herbs, some of what I think were malts, and very unfamiliar hops. Still with that metallic feature though. Tasted better than it smelled.
The feel was excellent, I had a difficult time drinking it slowly enough to really asses what I was tasting.
OA, very happy to have had the opportunity to taste this; hopefully someday I will learn enough to appreciate it for what it is.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Stamped as best by 1/31/22.
Appearance: light yellow hue with a little bit of haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Looks nice.
Smell: lightly malty aroma with a mild hoppiness. There's a bit of a yeasty, almost plastic-y aroma here that is not heavy enough to disqualify it, but also definitely an off-aroma.
Taste: sweet, soft malt flavor with a mild bitterness and a nice noble hop character. The yeast flavor is not quite as, let's say off, as the aroma, but it's also not perfect.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and really a very nice creaminess. Definitely this beer's best feature.
Overall: I don't want to give the impression that this is a bad beer; it's not. It just has its flaws, you know?

White meringue type of head. Not quite clear, medium gold color. Mixed sweet spices with a touch of roasted grain on the nose. First taste is very similar to a lightly hopped, quality pilsner, and with a touch of sweetness, initially in the flavor. Enjoyable malt hop balanced finish.

Nice thick look and excellent taste for being made several thousand miles from Köln itself. In fact, this is a Snoqualmie Pass beer and if you're local you'll know what that means: a long slow rise, often snow in the middle and flat and constant monotony afterwards. Luckily, this beer hits all but the last point, for it has a flavor that lasts and actually gets better the more I drink of it.
