a wet centennial based ipa, and a delicious beer from these guys, one of my first. its golden honey colored, rather clear from the tap, and holds a frothing, lacy white head the entire drink. the centennial seems well dosed, but also somewhat more delicate than it often does in pellet form, where distinct pine and fresh lumber notes always seem to exist, but here its a little softer to me, a little more fruit forward, i get orange peel and some weed character from the wet hops in the nose, more lemon in the taste, but still with the classic wet pine thing that always has defined this varietal for me. its remarkably low in bitterness for centennial too, this one can often be a bruiser, but with the focus on the dry hopping, it seems almost mild compared to the way this hop usually presents itself. there is a lightness to this that so few fresh hop beers have had this year, a dryness, without the oily sticky hop linger, and the cleanness lends to drinkability. its very fresh overall, somewhat understated on the hops and simple on the grains, but a very well crafted brew that tells a cool story. i have liked the hoppy beers i have had from these guys a lot so far! seems like a little less centennial going around in the wet hop stuff this year for whatever reason...
