easily the best of the two fresh hop beers i had in here, the other one being the el dorado hazy, this is an incredible expression of the hops in a beer that is otherwise extremely simple, so the hops really pop. this is to say that the base seems to be nothing more than pale two row barley malt, and the yeast is clean, flavorless, and works this down to dry, so there is a ton of space and time for the hops to shine, and boy do they. i get notes of lemongrass, lemon verbena, white tea, ripe cantaloupe, candied pineapple and tangerine peel, and green grape, it just really sings in here, fruity in the nose and taste, and present from beginning to end, quite dynamic and evolving as it warms a little too, and then pretty clean on the swallow, its wild how distinctive and pungent they are, and this is among the best showcases of the hop i have ever seen, i loved it! the carbonation is nice and high and the freshness is obvious, even without much of an oily feel from the hops that a lot of wet hop beers get. is remarkably unique and without much bitterness at all, but still drinking hoppy enough to fit as an ipa. i was very impressed with this, and with dru bru in general, cool spot, nice people, great suds! this was the highlight for me for sure.
