this was the best of the beers we had in here, locally roasted coffee stout, a simple but well put together beer, easily drinkable by the pint for a stout, and with a detectable caffeine buzz along with it. coal black in the glass, a little luster to it, and a half inch of tan head with okay retention. aroma is fresh roasted bitter coffee, smooth roasted dark barley, no astringent or harsh at all, and a little bit of mellow dark chocolate and cocoa. the flavor matches the nose, with the coffee well in front of everything else, they must have blended in quite a bit. it feels and tastes warming and hearty, really comforting and satisfying after a day on the slopes. enough body to be wintery, but not so heavy that its not a two or three pint brew. i have been getting really into coffee beers lately, and this is a pretty basic but well done coffee stout, long finish where the malt and coffee meet to bitter it up. i didnt think any of the beer here was bad at all, but i definitely liked this head and shoulders above any of their other selections. pure magic with a warm in house baked chocolate chip cookie!

Poured from a growler; into a pint glass.
Apperance - black, but a lot of light is allowed to enter. No head, no lacing.
Smell - French vanilla, almonds and whipping cream.
Taste - sweet French vanilla dominates; hints of roasted malts and coffee bean.
Feel - full, sweet and smooth. Finish is somewhat dry.
Overall - excellent creamy, vanilla stout that I would certainly have again.
