I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery.
Appearance: light golden hue with a moderate haze and a thin layer of white foam. Not bad.
Smell: smooth, fruity, sweet and orchardy. It's got that pear character I love in a tripel. Good stuff!
Taste: this beer is spiced with coriander, cumin and caraway, according to the description. Mostly I taste the coriander, which isn't bad but interferes a bit with the lovely pear character. Good, but just a little messy.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a somewhat low carbonation and OK creaminess.
Overall: an interesting tripel, and I'm happy to see this style given a try. But the spicing here is just a skosh out of place. I would love to try the base beer without the spicing.
