440ml can served in a little hotel glass in Mizonokuchi. Bought it a couple days ago at Ladybirds in Tokyo. Can is dated 081025, which I hope means it's not too old, but who knows.
Pours black, maybe a nearly opaque but slightly translucent ruby-brown, with a brownish head that fluffs up at around 3cm and settles down to around half a centimeter. Smell is pine and toasted nuts, some coffee and grapefruit. Some rising bread dough.
Taste is maybe a bit more on the roasty toasty side than the hopped toffee side. So more like a RIS but light, maybe. Black licorice and charred bread, brightened a bit with burnt orange peel. Toasted nuts are making an appearance, too.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, dry, clean. Overall, pretty solid but not inspiring.
