Two weeks ago, I'd had zero ales from Toye. Now I've drank all three listed on BA. Sort of hit the triple now (baseball pun.) Lesson: go visit the source. I got all three in Kortjik at different places on a Podge's Belgian tour.
Goedendag Looks like an active ale, big billowy foam that leaves a lovely lace the length of my glass. Smells like.... apple and peach blossoms (after all, it is springtime.) Tastes are balanced well, the hops introduce their bitter mid-palate but never get pushy. Finishes semi-dry. Not quite medium-mouthed for a full and yeasty style (perhaps because my pour was hard.)
Goededag paired well with a red sauce on pasta. Toye named this ale after a 11th Century famous battle in which a few Flemish beat the French army, a real David and Goliath story of ethnic legend. Also, I give very good Overall hugs to Toye for both the pairing and having broken thru the nano category. And wish them well. Op wu gezondheid !

Copenhagen 12/9 2023. 33 cl bottle from Spar, Langestraat, Oostende. Black label with a crude drawing of knights and soldiers.
Pours unclear yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity and floral odor mingling with a bit of alcohol. Roses and a flower bed. Peach and orange. Whiff of metallic alcohol.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a bitter undertone. Finish is semi-dry.
Fine floral and fruity brew.

pale yellow color with big white head. foam retention is good and there is some lacing.
it smells strongly of grass, peppery phenols and slight citrus. taste is bitter with overly peppery phenols. sweet malt and fruity esters are in background.
carbonation is high. body is light to medium. dry finish with slight warming.
yeast produced too much phenols and it restrained this beer to be awesome, but it has quality.
