From the tap at Gainsbar where the motto is "think global, drink local." Toye is in fact local, having moved to Kortijik where Gainsbar is.

Goedendag Donker Looks like dessert, and its foam stays active to the end. It Smells of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Caramel enters the Tastes quickly, yet by the finish there is enough bittersweet to further remind me of dessert. Medium mouthed in a viscous style.

My first from Toye, I went on their website and it is basic. Hard for me to know what motivates them other making strong beers. But I did learn that Goedendag is the "golden spur" of fame six centuries ago when the Belgian peasants chased off the French army.

l. pours slightly hazy, dark copper colour. tan head which clears quickly, leaving some lacing.
S. malts , some slight funksweet yeast, toffee notes.
t. very like a good porter. the smell carries through with extra elements. the hops come through but are not dominant. spicy notes. long finish which is pleasantly bitter
F. carbonation good and overall drinks smoothly.
