Sampling a cold 12 oz can poured into my snifter. the beer pours a mostly clear golden color, with lots of active streams of fine carbonation rising to the surface. There are some small collections of white sediment on the bottom of the glass.
A soft creamy bleached white head foams up on the pour and fades to a sturdy surface layer soon after the pour. But this surface layer remains throughout the sampling and leaves dense lattice after each sip.
The aroma is citrusy grapefruit and also some cut grass and a bit of white grape. Definitely hop forward, but not overwhelming on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium body with crisp and tingly carbonation. the texture is smooth and the beer glides down my gullet effortlessly. I find the flavor to be briefly sweet and slightly fruity, but this rolls to some bitter grapefruit rind notes and some cut grass notes. The grassiness is a little unpleasant in my opinion, but others may like it. The beer also completely dries out my palate after each sip and this makes me thirsty for more beer.
This is a decent IPA and not flawed, but maybe I dont really like Comet hops, as I dont think I would look for this again, and may also not chase beers with Comet hops featuered.
