Tasted in a tumbler from draft at the Mikerphone Brewing tap room on June 2, 2018. A French style saison brewed with lemon peel and hibiscus. A unique beer.

Had on tap. Solid american craft saison. The lemon peel, and especially the hibiscus, give the yeasty base a kick in the pants. Light, biscuit like and floral, is nice on a hot day

Big ass can of French style saison poured into French style Unibröue snifter. On look, reminiscent of a bubbly red wine-color, strong foam on pour that disappears, slight carb. Slightly tart citrus nose. Extremely tart taste upfront and in the middle. Slight citrus following. Weakens as you drink it, becoming more accessible. Very interesting version of the style.
EDIT: at the end, the sediment looked like cinnamon glitter. It was like they filtered the solids out of goldschlagger and put them in a sparkling rose wine.

Way over carbonated, gusher can. This was exploding on the shelves of the local store apparently... Not a great first impression.
Reddish orange, light haze, a ton of foam that rapidly subsided.
Smells vaguely fruity and yeasty, sweet Turkish delight.
Lightly tart and fruity taste, medium bodied, ripe fruit and yeasty esters. Overall it's ok, carb needs to be dialed way down. Thanks Chris for this one!

24 fl oz. 'BIG A$$ CAN', with no canned on date present, but I know this beer is fresh. Brewed & canned at SlapShot Brewing Company; my first beer from Mikerphone Brewing. "French-style saison with hibiscus and lemon peel". 6.00% abv according to the can. Side note: there was an issue with the yeast and/or canning according to my local store, because I had to buy a second can of this stuff, as my first can exploded everywhere.
Poured into a clear balloon snifter.
A - It explodes pink foam everywhere upon popping the tab, but after it settled and I got it in the glass, it pours a nice dark juicy pink body with two fingers of thin foamy pinkish-white head.
S - A sweet, creamy, floral, & sugary aroma. Very yeasty in the aroma, but not in the typical saison yeast spice type of way. Lightly bready.
T - Very juicy and fruity on the flavor. Rosehips, hibiscus, cranberry. Not really pulling out anything I would associate with lemon peel, but there is very clearly fruit imparted. Subtle grapey / red wine like tartness. Slightly phenolic. Very delicious.
M - The feel is crisp, sweet, & lightly sticky. A minimal amount of alcohol presence is noted, but it could be from the yeast / sugar / fruit.
Overall, a nice saison from Mikerphone Brewing, and a nice introduction for these guys. Looking forward to trying more from this new brewery.
