750 ml bottle, no bottled on date, but this was just released so I know it is fresh. 'Golden Ale fermented with 2 Saison Yeast strains, brettanomyces & lactobacillus, aged in wine puncheons on grapefruit' - so it sounds like there is quite a bit going on with this one. Label lists a 7.75% abv.

Poured into appropriate Mikerphone Brewing stemware.
#properglassware

A - Pours a cloudy juicy orange, looks like a nectar juice beverage of sorts, with one finger of thin fizzy wispy white head that doesn't last long. No real lacing to speak of. Looks intriguing, nonetheless.

S - A crisp, fruit-derived yeast-forward aroma. Notes of banana, pineapple, & grapefruit are noted. Brett & lacto aren't exactly dominant, but this is very clearly yeast-forward.

T - Taste is the same: very crisp, earthy, & yeasty, with lots of citrusy tropical fruits imparted. Notes of grapefruit, oranges, mango, pineapple, banana, with a tart / tannin sort of kick from the aging in wine barrels. Again, it tastes like a fruit nectar beverage at times. Very unique, to be sure.

M - Feel is smooth, crisp, juicy, & tart. Yeasty, with a bit of earthy bacterial flavor on the finish. Medium-bodied, drinkable.

Overall, a unique experiment from Mikerphone. This probably didn't turn out exactly as intended, but it was pretty delicious nevertheless. I look forward to further innovation from Mikerphone.

Cloudy orange, spotty lace, thin skim breaks quickly.
Aroma is odd, canned fruit and peppers, bell pepper.
Tart, oddly Bretty, fruity but not really grapefruity.
Medium bodied, a little vegetal, jarring and not cohesive.
Overall this sounded very ambitious and good on paper, but did not deliver.
