Was excited to try this one from Mikerphone. The smell was super strong, like fruit punch. The taste was had a good bit of grapefruit to it with a lot of tropical fruit behind it. Maybe a bit too strong but a very good beer.

Breathe in those mosaic hops friends. Felt especially in the smell, but also in the taste despite it being a sweeter neipa. Good tropical fruits like papaya, kiwi, and pineapple, with peach, banana, and grapefruit in the taste, and mosaic hop bitters in the finish. Body is standard for DIPA, with slight sweet creaminess on the end right before the hops kick it.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 750 ml bottle on March 1, 2018. Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on November 5, 2021. One of my favorite Special Sauce's.

I'll be the first to admit that I prefer the "NE style" look (turbid/opaque) to that of a more traditional IPA. With that being said, the ugliest beer in the world is still close to perfect in my eyes if it tastes phenomenal, so that's what I was looking for here-taste.

Batch 1 is Mosaic-hopped, and the interesting thing is, this tastes much more of tropical fruit (pineapple and mango) than it does of the mosaic dankness I'm used to. Very tasty, and the feel is awesome; very thick and creamy for an IPA. This does indeed look fairly opaque (although not on the orange juice-level I've seen some NE IPAs have), and it's nice. Excellent job by Mike over at Mikerphone, and I'll definitely keep my eye out for other batches.
