Bottled 11/9/16; drank 11/12/16 @ the Family Compound.
Semi-opaque red/purple appearance.
Minimal eggnog head; almost no lace.
Honeyed grain, tart raspberry & dark cherry notes in the nose.
Sticky, medium mouthfeel.
Honeyed grain & tart raspberry flavors up front; mild Merlot notes on the finish.
Fruity with a nice sweet/tart balance; a bit heavy on the wine for me, but still enjoyable.

Pours a semi-clear bright cherry red with strong carbonation, and a thin layer of off-white foam.
Pungent fruit character with notes of raspberries and cherries and a bit of musty funk.
Bretty must comes out much stronger in flavor, but not enough to overpower the tart cherry and raspberry flavor. A slightly oaky character is also noticeable.
Light-bodied, high carbonation, funky, tart, bone dry finish.
Overall, a nice sipper that would be great on a hot summer day.

Reddish and hazy, thin wispy surface skim and spotty lacing.
Aroma is lightly acidic and oaky with an odd popcorn note that comes through at first.
Raspberry and cherry flavors, dominant popcorn kernel note that lingers into the aftertaste, presumably from the Brett yeast. Slight cheesiness, light bodied and acidic. Overall it's pretty good, though the popcorn thing was a little odd.

750 ml bottle, bottled today and delivered fresh to the local bottle shop. "Saison Ale aged in wine puncheons with blueberries, raspberries, & cherries". Sounds epic.
Poured into Mikerphone Brewing stemware.
A - Pours a juicy pink tinted body, finger of frothy white head that dies down to a ring, leaving minor spotty lacing. Appears adequately carbonated. Looks excellent.
S - Aroma is earthy, fruity, berryish, pungent, bacterial, & yeasty. The earthy fruitiness of the trio of berries complements the dry tannic grape & wine like subtleties. Lightly leathery.
T - Taste follows the nose: the trio of berries is juicy, fruity, & authentic all the way. This thing literally tastes like it is made out of 100% juice. Notes of cold leather / wine barrel / oak present throughout. Legitimately authentic fruit roll-up berry flavor all the way.
M - Feel is smooth, crisp, & easy-drinking. Berryish, yeasty, & bacterial finish. Supremely easy-drinking and light-bodied for the modestly high 8.40% abv.
Overall, I've been a fan of all of Mike's wine puncheon aged beers, and this one is no exception. Light-years ahead of some of this other amateur swill that is released. Nice stuff.
