750 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Had 1/12/18.
Pours a hazy yellow, with a one and a half inch head with good retention and a good amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of yeast, malt, grain, wine- which opens up more as it warms, a little oak, light black pepper, a sweet smell. The taste is fairly similar: yeast- more Belgian than the aroma, wine, malt, grain, light oak and spices, a sweet note overall. Smooth, a good fuller body for the style, carbonated on the high side, a little fizzy feeling.
This is really well done. Starts with a good base saison, just enough wine, the honey integrates nicely. Great flavor. Well worth a purchase.

Nice golden color with a hint of haziness. Has a honey nut oats taste to go nicely with the hop profile. Body seemed a little thin for the style, but otherwise a very enjoyable beer, would be great for spring time.

Tasted in a tumbler from draft at the Mikerphone Brewing taproom on December 18, 2017. Honey and oat saison aged in wine puncheons.

Had at The Beer Temple at their new taproom, kegged a week earlier. I'd say, "fresh !!!!"
First rating and review... what a responsibility for someone on Medicare.
Three things to remember about this saison:
1) It is refreshing (after exercise), balanced (the honey and the hops are pals), smooth (the oats will turn you into a crooner), sweet (there is lots of malt and some brewer's sugar, but not as much as the Belgians tend to use, so this is an innovation) and not that sour (compared to most users of Brett who, IMHO, over do the sour.)
2) This is only my second saison from Mikerphone and I'm reasonably sure that they know what they are doing with this very subtle style. Bravo! (But you may have trouble finding it even in Chicagoland.)
3) Question marks are a good way to end a name for a beer because all have opinions, but only a few of us (not me included) know what we are talking about. But I do know this: I'd like this in bottles so I can enjoy it at leisure and with dinner.
