Big peanut butter & dry nuttiness. Dark chocolate, smooth bourbon, and big tobacco with moderate barrel char. Also not boozy at all. Very good.

poured from a 500mL bottle into a snifter. pours a dark brown to almost black with a thin dark brown foam cap that fizzes away into the thinnest collar. must be the adjunct additions but this puppy is spritzy. cocoa powder and crumbled peanuts on the nose. not getting a lot of barrel. taste follows with the cocoa powder leading the way (very similar to the anniversary bottle with cocoa nibs & husks) followed by chalky peanuts. slightest barrel sting on the finish but this thing is all adjuncts. a little barrel shines through as it warms up but it mixes with the peanuts in a somewhat unruly fashion. medium-full mouthfeel with a lively carbonation. had a little higher hopes for this one. still, not bad. just not as good as i’d hoped for.
