Double Barrel Ace Of Base is a blend of extended aged imperial stouts that first sat in a Willett Kentucky bourbon barrel, a Heaven Hill bourbon whiskey barrel and a W.L. Weller wheated bourbon barrel. We then blended those together and sent them into some Rhine Hall Distillery brandy barrels. What resulted is a 17.08% ABV bouble barrel-aged imperial stout.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2023 release, had 12/22/23.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and oily specks of lacing. Aromas of brandy, bourbon, vanilla, fig, chocolate, oak, light caramel. Pretty much the same flavors: brandy, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, malt, oak, fig, some chocolate. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Delicious. The brandy barrels stand out among many distinct aromas and flavors. It’s barrel forward, but it’s rich, full and expressive. Really enjoyable.
