8/10/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Purchased at store temperature on May 30, 2024 at Beer on the Wall Park Ridge for $3.41 including tax. 16 oz with no canned date, distributed to Beer on the Wall the week ending 5/24/24. Collaboration Caribbean-Style Lager with Roaring Table. 5.0% ABV, brewed and canned by Mikerphone Brewing in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
Appearance: Poured about half the can into a Pilsner glass, with a light golden straw clear base with consistent steady medium plus carbonation and a bright white puffy head with random clustered lacing. Looking good. 4.25
Aroma: Getting pineapple and lime along with traditional lager malt aroma. Light, took a few attempts, but interesting. 3.5
Taste: Mostly lager flavor of cracker, pepper and salt, with tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus and lime, playing a more complimentary role. I'm enjoying. 3.75
Mouthfeel: Light and easy drinking, feels below the 5.0% ABV. Gentle sustained carbonation, body light to medium and watery, perceived fuller from the sweet fruit flavors which complement the base lager. Pineapple citrus finish. 4.0
Overall: Wouldn't typically go for added flavors to a lager, but picked up because the two brewers involved. Not an everyday selection based on my preferences, but judging solely on the beer and how it was classified, it is a solid pour, and one I will recommend for someone looking for a lager with tropical backing flavors. 3.75
