Look: Golden in color, not too hazy, medium white foam head.
Smell: Sweet citrus, mainly orange and grapefruit.
Taste: Grapefruit but with an off-putting onion flavor. Faded hops.
Feel: Medium bodied and carbonation.
Overall: Not fresh hops, not sure why.

Picked this up a while ago while in Tennessee and as usual, took forever to get around to it! Nice can design and attempt to brew a beer that was not like something from either coast and in the end, it did work out as it had elements of both regions...

The pour to this was pretty much what I expected as the liquid was hazy, apricot, and somewhat thick. Not a lot of head topped this off but the lacing was very extensive as it covered a majority of the my pint glass, with rings faintly visible in the midst of all the suds. Citrus, dank hops, and tropical fruits filled up the nose as the taste was quite full, balanced, and not overly bitter. Vanilla and cream came into the mix as this warmed up and the taste was quite smooth and long-lasting, given how low the carbonation was. Hints of forest could be felt in the aftertaste but nothing was too strong here!

Plenty of booze in this one but you'd have to look at the label to find it. No, this wasn't fresh but there was little sediment to be seen as it was still enjoyable after all this time. Canned on 3/12/18 with "CLEVER GIRL' written above it, this was proof that people in the Volunteer State don't have to travel far to find an IPA that can hold it's own with similar offerings from the coasts...

Wow, like most others, this is a PLEASURE. Normal sharp bright orange pour, with a malty body and the super sharp citrus scent. The beer carries its normal thick body, mid-weight bittering hop schedule, yet heavy late addition hops that help to cover the high gravity. One of the easiest high gravity beers i’ve had the benefit of drinking. If you see this beer in the store, but one. I need to clear up the local market.

So this is the double dry hopped version, someone please notify me if this needs to be listed as a separate beer and I will do so. Can into a glass.
A: pours with a smooth, creamy, beige head, and a milky, cloudy orange body, very pretty to look at
S: instant orange with undercurrents of grapefruit, with a subtle suggestion of hop bitterness, quite pleasant
T: very rich, but with enough bitterness to balance, I haven't had a lot of the beers, this makes the fourth, but I'm sensing that dialing back the bitterness more than most is a real theme for them and I think it works. Milky (in a good way), and possessing an un-saccharine sweetness with tons of citrus, some hints of lemon and pine.
M: thick but not sticky, with just enough carbonation to provide a slight sharpness on the tongue
O: another very excellent beer from bearded iris, it is orange-centric, smooth and a pleasure to drink. Well done gents.

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 06/26/17

Poured into a Tired Hands glass a very nice cloudy orangy color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, apricot), pretty nice diesel like. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, apricot), pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Maybe a bit maltier, then the other 3 I've had. I like this one. Addictive! Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks John!

Hazy orange-rose with a thin creamy blanket leaving wavy, spotty lace.

Smell is vanilla, oats, orange and lemon.

Taste is more sharp than the nose indicates, with pine, mint, orange, lemon, grapefruit, and some smoothing cream, wheat and vanilla.

The medium, frothy soft body finishes dry.

As a gallant attempt at a west coast imperial IPA, the brewers at Bearded Iris just can't help themselves, That New England taste, texture and haze has them calling back. With this hop bomb, its the utilization of Simcoe, Mosaic, Centennial and Motueka hops for a beer that hits all the hoppy buttons.

Hazy goldenrod and with a light peach hue, Ever Clever pours with a less than standard turbid opaqueness than usual for the brewery. But its juicy aroma is spot on; seducing the senses with citrus, tropical, herbal, grassy and peppery aromas that beat the olfactory senses into submission. Malt sweetness glides onto the tongue with honey, light caramel and an overall shortbread maltiness.

Sweetness gradually lifts and the hop flavors lay a fruit forward puree on the middle palate. Pink grapefruit, lemon and mandarin orange go from floral to full fruity in a snap. Rich with exotic fruitiness, a taste of mango, passionfruit and pineapple follow for a taste that's more in line with sherbet and fruit punch. But an herbal complement comes in late and tightens its grip on the gullet with resinous pine bitterness and a spicy taste of lemongrass.

Medium full on the palate, the beer's late stride toward dryness is held back by its immense upfront fruitiness and its pastry-like texture. Bright and tangy, the beer's bitterness is a welcome reprieve from the smooth and often lacking bitterness. Finally, a beer from the haze craze built for the hop heads of the west coast.

Recently went on vacation through Asheville, Charleston, and Nashville. This was, by far, the most aromatic beer and had the least amount of bitterness. Very smooth drinker!

Pours deep hazy like apple cider vinegar. Has a citrus smell and a thick citrusy, almost grapefruity/orange after taste. The hops carry this taste through the mouth. Very good beer.

Poured from a can into a tulip. Very hazy, slightly turbid, golden color. A one-finger head with decent staying power. Nice aroma as I popped the can: tropical fruit and also dank and weedy. The fruit juice initially hit me, followed closely by a dank resin and some floral, earthy notes. Tropical but also dank on the finish. A soft, soft bitterness and the feel is softer than usual. Slightly warming but the alcohol was masked well. A winner, especially if you dig the weedy notes.
