I am really digging the usage of Nelson Sauvin hops in BI’s beers, especially where it’s paired with Mosaic. And this may be one of BI’s best new lower ABV and non-DDH offerings.
Pours a cloudy, turbid, cidery-orange body with a thin white head and just a hint of spotty lacing. Very soft but thin look.
First aroma notes are the familiar massive doses of citru and grass that have become BI’s staple. And while it starts out dank, it quickly turns bright with white grape, pineapple, berry, and guava. Little pine, lots of cracker, very, very appealing.
Taste is a very similar experience with Mosaic owning the first wave of orange, lemongrass, grapefruit, and wheaty biscuit. Then Nelson Sauvin takes hold and brings waves of green grape skins, melon, and lemon. A little green astringency on the back end, a good amount of pithy bitterness, and a citrus-sweet finish.
Feel is silky and almost creamy but medium-thin and not sticky at all. Easy drinking and incredibly tasty.
Don’t know how regular an offering this one will be amongst BI’s rapidly growing rotating portfolio, but it’s one that I would happily make a staple in my fridge (like Homestyle).
