Really hard to grade this as an IPA. This is an alcoholic fruit smoothie, plain and simple. Very true to the fruit element, as the pureed berries are dominantly present on the nose and tongue. But there's very little "beer" element to this beer, with hints of citrus, yeast, white grapes, and cracker, but the berries and lactose really dominate everything about this beer. Looks like a melted smoothie. Smells like a smoothie. Tastes like a smoothie. It's pretty, smells great, and tastes lovely, but how on earth do you compare this to Lagunitas IPA, 60 Minute IPA, or even Homestyle? Feels like it belongs better in a fruited beer category.

Their latest Mood Ring variant was released in cans today. Looks like a fruit smoothie with a purplish color and a modest pink head. All fruit aroma with a pleasant mix of berries, primarily blackberry. Faint citrus hop notes. The berries blended well with the hops in this one - bright fruit with the sweetness balanced with a softly bitter citrusy presence. Plush and hefty feel from the lactose with a slight sweetness but not over the top. Overall excellent.
