Notes:
What's the MAGIC WORD on this tiny but fiercely fruited pale? The juicy, tropical flamboyance of Pineapple meets the sweet-tart nuance of sun-ripened Boysenberry and the creamy goodness of lactose.

Poured into a pint glass. A striking purplish-pink color with a frothy light-pink head that lingered nicely. The aroma was as billed, with bright berries and pineapple. Not as aromatic as some of BI's IPAs, but nice for the style. The fruit continued on the palate. Not too overdone, allowing the hops and (slightly) the malt to make an appearance. Neither fruit dominated and the flavors seemed in check. Slightly sweet with medium body that kept this 4.5% from getting watery. Very nice.

Appearance: Arrives murky and blueberry juice colored with a small head that delivers the lace
Smell: The boysenberry notes are powerful but there is pineapple in the mix, too
Taste: On the tastebuds the two fruit adjuncts complement each other with some malt underneath to add some body and complexity (and to serve as a reminder that this is not a smoothie)
Mouthfeel: Very creamy withe a medium body and low to moderate carbonation
Overall: A beer of this style is a first for me - real hybrid fruit juice smoothie beer
