Pot meets passion, meets citronella in a signature Bearded Iris taste that celebrates the Strata, Citra and Columbus hops for a trio of taste that'll have the hop heads crawling to the bar like ferrel cats to catnip.
As the standard pour of pastel gold casts a matte finish on the glass, a lathery froth begins to build. A highly fragrant perfume of citrus fills the nose along with a gentle drift of botanical and herbaceous grasses. Gliding over its pastry sweet taste of light cookie dough and angel food cake, a candied sense of marmalade graces the tongue.
But its the hops that explode on the middle palate like pop rocks. The Citra hops shine with a burst of branch ripe tangerine while the Strata keep the candied and berry like taste side red grapefruit front and center. Along with the Columbus hops all three varieties contribute to the rife bitterness of hemp, geranium and chive that trail into a crisp and concise late palate.
Trending drier, crisper and tighter in texture, the beer doesn't try to approach any West Coast type of dryness but is cleaner than is common in the hazy style. A medium long afterglow of playfully dank grasses is joined with the botanical array of spruce and gin.
