Notes: This batch of V. LATTE tamps cocoa nibs + vanilla beans + oats + lactose together, then layers in fresh Rosales coffee, roasted by Crema Coffee, adding swirls of orange blossom, juicy plum, and brown sugar complexity.

Stepping out of the haze craze, Bearded Iris will occasionally do the unthinkable- dark, opaque, ominous, roasty and savory. they challenge their hoppy rivals with an Imperial Cream Stout with the aid of Rosales Coffee.

V. Latte (the Rosales edition) pours a viscous, marshmallowy appearance with a patient separation of froth from beer. Black and looking the part of creamy coffee liquer, the scent soon follows with a lavish cappuccino tone. Caramel, vanilla and cream all work to give a nearly fudgy scent across the senses. Sweet and robust on the early palate, the taste of coffee, chocolate, sweet cream, toffee and pulled candy keep the roasted decadence front and center.

The middle palate is a long continuation of the creamy sweetness that's established early on the tongue. Caramel, cream and coffee apply a film of convincing latte flavor broadly across the tastebuds. Bitterness creeps in with the form of boldly roasted coffee, black walnut and a dark woodsy type of earth. Wavering in its marshmallow consistency, the finish lightens to a velvety smooth, bittersweet finish.

Full and nougat-like on the early and middle palate, the finish is less viscous and chewy but still trends like latte on the late palate. The booze of kahlua, cream de cacao and bailey's has a soft and savory liquor warmth with an extended afterglow of hot chocolate and coffeehouse latte.

Had it at the brewery from tap. Deep dark brown color with great head and lacing smell and taste of flavorful dark roast coffee. Rich chocolatey taste with the right amount of sweetness. Very smooth, comforting beer. Enjoyed it very much!

Poured into a snifter. Somewhat viscous opaque brown with a sturdy tan head. Great coffee and chocolate aroma. Smells like the coffee also has some fruity elements like blueberry. The taste was as billed - smooth roasty and fruity coffee with rich chocolate. This was silky smooth with a somewhat thick feel but not overdone or too sweet. Just outstanding.
