Some beers overflow with possibilities. In this DIPA, discover nelson, citra, and motueka hops – paired with an expressive yeast character that brings ripe fruit sweetness – together presenting as notes of preserved lemon squeeze, fragrant summer peach skin, and orange push pop, to name only a few.

16 oz. Can
Canned: 10.30.20

Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice cloudy dark pale orange/yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some very nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, nectarine, apricot), pretty nice diesel like. The taste is very nice hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, nectarine, apricot), pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Orange Julius! Addictive! MilkShake! Nice to see it around here.

16 oz. can. Canned 10/30/20, opened 12/13/20.

Pours glowing orange with a pillowy head and persistent lacing.

The nose and taste feature notes of orange and peach, with mild to medium herbal dryness providing balance.

The mouthfeel is medium for the style with the aforementioned mild to medium dryness and some booze poking through.

Overall, very nice, but mild astringency reveals itself after the initial fruity pop.

4-week-old can poured into a tulip glass.

Looks like a BI hazy! Wonderful, juicy, glowing, yellow-orange body. Full haze but no murk or "pulp." Bright white head of creamy, tightly-compact bubbles that drops quickly, reforms with a few swirls of the glass, and provides nice spots and streaks of lacing down the glass. Very attractive beer.

Aroma profile is heavenly, though I'm admittedly a sucker for Citra AND Nelson hops, so this one is right up my alley. Incredibly dank and overripe fruit-forward, with big doses of pineapple, mango, guava, mandarine orange, peach, and green grape. Grassy, peppery, and floral. A really nice stab of green onion emerges. Herbal without being green. Nice yeasty note, but not starchy. Lemon rind on the back end.

Flavor profile is right there but can't quite keep up. Dank and oniony up front, then the fruit juice pours in. There's a really nice, moderate residual sweetness (which I like), but nothing over the top. Green grapes, juicy fruit, orange, lemon, and peach, with ambiguous tropical notes floating throughout. Grassy, a little herbal, with just a touch of starch. Finishes with a nice dose of grapefruit rind pith. The dankness and pith just coats the teeth and tongue. The only real negative is an slight over-overripe fruit note that strikes late and lingers. Otherwise really, really fantastic.

Feel is BI's typical soft, creamy, silky smoothness, though not sticky or "thick" in any way. Zero heat, incredibly easy-drinking.

Easily my favorite new Bearded Iris release in recent memory.

Big thanks to Buck89 for this one.
Can stamped: "A fist bump is a sacred contract 7/11/19" Indeed.
Bright, turbid straw to gold in hue. Fluffy white head. Dense at first, slowly retreats to a consistent loosely packed blanket of clumpy foam a half finger or so high. Good retention, scattered lacing.
Smell is well, a melange of strong tropical notes, non sweet pineapple, some bright young dank notes, a bit of pepper, then finally some citrus, and a bit of pine.
Taste is very faithful to the nose with a gritty yeastiness that comes through as well. Thankfully the citrus does not surrender to the Nelson. (I must state that Nelson is not one of my favorite hops, so caveat emptor before considering my opinion).
Mouthfeel is active and fluffy, and slightly full for style. I like that.
Overall, there is a LOT going on here. If you are a Nelson fan, dive in. You'll love it.
