WET HOP IPA BREWED WITH WHOLE CONE FRESH CITRA HOPS
It doesn’t get fresher than a wet hop IPA. Our first one overflows with the vibrant sunlit intensity of heaping, fresh-from-the-bine citra, paired with simcoe and mosaic for a little extra bounce. We were excited to work with the folks at Yakima Chief Hops to pay homage to the tireless work of hop cultivation and farming, and to embody the flexibility and effervescent urgency required for a wet hop brew. While we’re always in pursuit of the freshest hop flavor and seek to infuse it into each offering, we think you’ll enjoy discovering the differences that whole cone wet citra adds to this one in particular.

I'm not as big a fan of this as othera....they have released a new version of this with Azacca and Citra. Around a month old...
Some tropical notes but a funky finish sort of ruins the experience... weird hop profile all the way around.
Not enjoyable...

A - Pours pale orange, big pillowy white head, fading quickly to thin cap, small bubble lacing.
S - Nose of zest and citrus flesh, a bit of pith, and a spun sugar sweetness.
T - Lovely, tasty orange and grapefruit citrus, a sweet malt middle, and a mild pith bite in the finish. A bit of mint and vegetal hops comes through, notes I take to be forward from the wet hop.
M - Smooth and light weight for the scale. Very mild, soft finish.
O - I've had many wet hop IPAs, and this is pretty solid. Tasty, easy and satisfying.

Received from @jdell15 in an NBS BIF. Canned on 9/15/2020. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It pours an opaque, dirty golden-orange color with a large, fluffy, milk-white head and spotty lacing. There's lots of bright citrus on the nose: lemon, lime, pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, melon, and a whiff of onion. The taste opens with tart grapefruit and lemon along with tangerine, peach, and melon. The Citra and Cashmere add great flavor. As the glass warms, I'm tasting a lot more resinous pine needles. It finishes with moderate bitterness and pepper. The balance between sweet, tart, and bitter is outstanding. This ale is surprisingly lite and crisp for 7.5% ABV. Maybe that's the effect of the fresh hops. Overall, Fresh on Fresh is outstanding. Everything about it rewards the senses.

Pours a hazy orange with soft, fluffy head.
Smell is dank and juicy with notes of melon. peaches and gummy candy.
Taste follows the nose, adding some hints of citrus and spruce, as well as a fairly strong, hoppy bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice IPA, even though mine was probably a little bit too old.

Poured into a snifter. A very hazy dark golden color with a medium sized white head. The foam left some nice lacing in the glass. The aroma and flavor lined up very well. This was a great Citra showcase, with loads of ripe orange and citrus notes accompanied by a subtle dank undercurrent. There was a slight grassiness as well, perhaps a result of the wet hops. Bitterness was moderate and soft as expected. The feel was also soft and I didn't detect any astringency. The finish was all citrus. Outstanding.

Beautiful orange-gold body (a tinge more orange than the usual BI IPA offerings, which is additive) of opaque but not turbid haze, with a finger of bright white head that collapses quickly but provides a thin cap and quite a lot of sticky, soapy lacing.
BI’s familiar yeast and a pungent punch of citrus juice leap out of the glass. Sweet tangerine, lemon, underripe pineapple, and ambiguous tropical notes. Tons of grassiness, a little wheat biscuit, plus some white grape and berry notes. Really good, fairly raw, and a little more mellow than I expected given the fresh hop approach.
Taste follows but BI’s familiar (over the past year or so) green astringency steals a little from the experience. Juicy citrus, lemon-lime, wine grapes, plum and pear, pineapple and mango. Fruit juicy but not sweet. Fairly bitter and green on the backend. Again, very grassy. It’s definitely a BI beer! Very good but not a standout on the tongue. Minimize some of the green hop burn and you have something really special, but I feel like I say that about most BI IPAs at this point.
Feel is soft and silky but a touch thin. Easy drinking, for sure.
