16 oz can, canned 8/25/20, into BIBCO Teku (my new favorite glass!)
Milk Stout brewed with Coconut.
Pours a surprisingly thin looking weak light brown from the can, but that all changes once it hits the glass, forming a sea of dark chocolate and a tall almond head of 3 fingers, receding to 1, leaving broken but plentiful lace behind.
Aroma is rather ordinary, with a single roasted dark chocolate malt note, with a little bit of milk chocolate sweetness behind it.
Flavor is that single roasted dark chocolate malt note, followed by a little bit of sweet coconut and milk stout. Has a bit of spiced/churro ice cream on the finish.
Feel is roasty and medium bodied, with mild alcohol heat, some moderate to high prickly carbonation. Ends on roasty dryness and slight alcohol burn.
Overall, may be one of the worst Bearded Iris beers I've had, or maybe the worst, but despite that, it is still drinkable and tasty. It drinks like an average oatmeal stout with a bit of sweet coconut and churro added. Not unlike something we'd find in the great plains, but with a better execution on coconut/sweetness. It's like if we did a coconut stout correctly.
That being said, for those accustomed to Bearded Iris and other Tennessee knock outs, avoid this one, you may be pretty disappointed.
Price paid : $4.00 / can
Would buy again : nah
