16 oz can, dated 9/30/20, into Bearded Iris Teku.
Brewed with Mosaic Cryo, Enigma, and El Dorado.
Pours a foggy yellow-gold with a creamy cap of 2 fingers, receding gradually to a finger and leaving fuzzy lace up the sides.
Very green hop aromas initially, but swirling yields more fruity notes. Descriptors would be loud fresh floral notes, pine/grass, maris otter, then apricot, orange gummy, starfruit, and mango.
Flavor is very grassy and floral - surprising considering the cryo hops - some faint pineapple, mango, and grapefruit, all attached to the bitter grass. Flavors of fruity yeast save this beer somewhat, but it is very bitter and grassy. Perhaps even soapy. Slight hop burn.
Flavor is semi-creamy, resinous, acidic but not juicy, with high carbonation and heat. Resinous and hot finish.
Overall, this one was easily my least favorite IPA from BIBCO so far. Strangely, it doesn't come across as a shitty beer, it seems well-constructed. The flavor profile bothers me a bunch though and it's not something I'll likely finish. Would not revisit.
Price paid : $15.99 / 4 pack
Would buy again : nope
