16 oz can, dated 9/13/21, into Calusa snifter.
Very juicy appearance, looking like orange juice or grapefruit juice, with a thin half finger of head with skirted lacing as it recedes.
Signature chinook but with a juicy spin. Very nice. Dank pipe bowl with apricot and peaches, a little cantaloupe, and some pineapple perhaps.
Flavor has faded already, but what's there is pretty good. Pineapple and melon, with a soft yet hefty malty backing, wet paper, a little onion, and just slight smoky cannabis. Finishing notes of alcoholic pineapple.
Feel is super juicy, very carbonated, very creamy, slight resins on the finish, well done.
Overall, Bearded Iris really needs to get a lid on the oxygen seeping into their packaging. Their IPAs fade so fast now, I remember the first few I ever had from them were 3 months old and still stellar - now it's about 4-5 weeks and they're totally shot.
I'm sure at one week this beer would have been a monster. Still, a pretty good ghost of a beer here. Easily the best all-chinook beer I've had, it has sold me on the series as long as I can find it fresh.
