12 oz. bottled on 03/08/17
Pours foggy hazy yellow gold with a dense creamy white foam head. Smells like tart apples, pear, oats, creamy bready crackery malts, spicy rye, some smoked malt, caramel, apricot, banana, peppery clove, orange, vanilla, grapefruit, lemony citrus, pineapple, with floral resinous earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like tart apples, pears, smoked malt, creamy bready crackery malts, spicy rye, oats, caramel, apricot, banana, peppery clove, orange, vanilla, grapefruit, lemony citrus, pineapple, with floral resinous earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a really nice and unique saison.

Picked up at the brewery, neglected to check the bottling date.
Anyway, solid saison with a neat smoky twist. Has a sweetness up front but the toasted grains and rye finish it out nicely. Very good "different" saison.

Pours a slightly hazy pale amber with a one finger head, moderate retention, little lacing.
Aromas of spicy esters like coriander and clove, a little bubble gum and juicy fruit, maybe a hint of fresh mint.
Tastes of coriander, grass, bubble gum, clove, pepper, a little banana. Light bready malt. It's sweet up front but has a quite spicy finish. Light bitterness.
Medium bodied, a little rough around the edges, ample carbonation, dry.
Overall it's a Saison, there's nothing particularly stand out about it other than the prominence of the spice. It's good and drinkable, but not wowing anywhere.

A: Pours a lightly hazy straw color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap
S: Some fruitiness, light smoke, spicy rye, and a bit of general yeast as well
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the smoked malt, citrus, and rye and goes into a bit of the fruity and spicy yeast before coming back to the smoke. Finishes fairly clean with lingering smoke and citrus
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O: The smoked malt really adds a nice dimension to the beer and makes it pop along with the rye. Definitely worth checking out if you like a nice, sturdy smoked saison

12 oz. bottle in a tulip.
Appearance: Hazy, carby straw. Not particularly amber. Ring of white lacing. Decent retention on a short white head.
Aroma: Little barnyard, little rye, some pepper, some lemon and fruitiness.
Taste: Nice mix of spicy and fruity flavors. Rye is definitely there. Lemon, too. Toasty cereal grains.
Mouthfeel: Standard for style. Nice spring beer.
Overall: Good standard-issue saison. The rye adds a nice dimension. Not as wild and crazy as some Allagash adventures, but pleasant.
