Had this beer at Max's for their American Craft Brew Festival event. Was told this was a "one of," though perhaps if it proves popular, more will be made.
This is listed on the beer menu as a Belgium style tripel with cherries.
The beer pours a hazy orange amber color. There is good head/foam retention, and very good lacing. The nose has a somewhat funky Belgium aroma (in a good way), along with orange and sour cherries. On the palate one gets sweet fruit, but with a touch of tartness, and in fact there is an orange/sour cherry flavor to this beer. The beer has a very smooth and buttery finish, and is entirely too drinkable for it's abv. A very nice beer from Allagash.
