HonkyTonk Brewing Co. "Green Man"
on tap @ Hops + Craft, Nashville, TN - 7 April 2015
$2.02 / small glass
Another E.S.B. from a Nashville brewery? Interesting... in my neck of the woods E.S.B.'s are rare, but I've already enjoyed a great one from Tennessee Brew Works so I wonder will this one live up to that? Absolutely. It's got a great appearance - but I've also just seen my bartender wash my glass pretty thoroughly, ensuring that it's beer clean. Very nice lacing! Aroma is as expected, and it's not overdone with hops as I somewhat feared given the name "Green Man". It's nicely malty but still remarkably smooth. I get notes of golden caramel, chocolate, nuts, and subtle apple. It's richer than I might expect of an E.S.B., but still excellent all-around. If I had more time I'd check them out, but I don't, so you should!
