1/3 pint on-draught @ the brewpub for 110 baht.
4.2-4.5% ABV. German Pilsner. Brewed with pilsner, pale, and crystal hops, and Hallertauer and Tradition German hops.
Surprisingly fruity (read: hoppy) for a pilsner, eschewing tradition. Pale malts are more prominent than pils malts, giving this too much oomph for the style. Too heavy (even if merely medium-bodied) on the palate, overcarbonated, smooth, wet.
It's not a gestalt whole of a beer, and there isn't an ideal harmony of texture and taste here. But it's certainly more flavourful than any other Thai beer I've tried (Tawandang, the usual macros) and that alone will make it appealing to many.
It's well worth trying when on Koh Samui and may be Bee's Knees' finest beer in spite of its imbalance.

Fantastic Pilsener! Very refreshing on a hot day. I had this at the Bee's Knees Brewpub on Koh Samui. I can't say I'm extremely familiar with a quality Pilsener, but if the ones I've had, this is near the top in flavor and feel. I would definitely get this one again.
